Vintage French impressionist landscape painting with storm clouds. French School, circa 1950s. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (older than painting). Depicts a landscape with storm clouds. Primitive study of a barn on reverse of panel. Impressionist in style. Size of frame: 17.25 x 14.75 inches; Size of panel: 15.5 x 13 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15.25 x 12.75 inches. Weight: 1.1 kg (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some minor knocks to frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Please note it is also visible from the front. Priced accordingly.
