Vintage French Abstract oil painting portrait study of a poet by JR Parayre. French, circa 1960. Signed by the artist on reverse of canvas - "Parayre" - Jean Robert Parayre. Oil on canvas. Depicts a poet - provenance on reverse. Size: 21.75 x 18 inches. Weight: 800g (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, lots of craquelure and flaking and paint loss around perimeter. As mentioned, there are areas where the antique paintwork has started to flake off from the canvas. Whilst every care will be taken with packing, I cannot guarantee that more flaking will occur in transit so please be aware of this before buying (and any such risk will be on the buyer.
