Very large antique Georgian oil painting portrait of a lady called Elizabeth Perkins (2 of 2). English School, circa 1800-35. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas, laid on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a lady in bonnet with ringlets called Elizabeth Perkins nee Williams - born 1792, died 1855 - see label on reverse. Size of frame: 37.5 x 32.5 inches; Size of canvas: 30 x 25 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 29 x 24 inches. Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks and scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame. Please note the panel has had significant woodworm infestation previously but which has now been treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
