Very large antique Georgian oil painting portrait of a gentleman called Richard Perkins (1 of 2). English School, circa 1800-35. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas, laid on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a gentleman in formal attire called Richard Perkins - born 1770, died 1839 - see label on reverse. Size of frame: 37.5 x 32.5 inches; Size of canvas: 30 x 25 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 29 x 24 inches. Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks and scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame. Please note the panel has had a woodworm infestation previously but which has now been treated to eradicate. There has also been some restoration to the reverse of frame. Priced accordingly. Collection highly recommended from Brockley, London SE4 or you are welcome to arrange your own courier within the UK. Please do not arrange for a commercial courier to collect as they will refuse to take it if it is not packed up. We do travel about in the UK from time to time so do ask if we are able to deliver for a small fee in the near (or not too distant!) future - perhaps a long shot but worth a try.
We are willing to post abroad but at the buyer's risk and expense.
