The artist's name is also inscribed on the frame: "Thomas Creswick, English School, 1811-1869". Oil on board. Gilt gesso frame. Depicts a country cottage with figure by a river. Size of frame: 10.5 x 8.5 inches; Size of painting:8.25 x 6.25 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 7.75 x 5.75 inches. Weight: 310g (allow 2 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
