Small antique river landscape oil painting with punt signed J Stark. English, circa 1840-50. Signed by the artist, James Stark (British, 1749-1959). Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 11.5 x 10 inches; Size of panel: 7 x 5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 6.25 x 4.5 inches. Weight: 907g (allow up to 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Reasonable condition for its age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
