Small antique Georgian oil painting study of pigs in sty by George Morland. English, circa 1780-1800. Signed by the artist ("G Morland" in bottom righthand corner - very faint and hard to make out but visible with a magnifying glass - George Morland (British, 1763-1804). Depicts a couple of pigs in sty with girl. Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Size of frame: 13.5 x 11 inches; Size of canvas: 10.5 x 8 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 10.25 x 7.5 inches. Weight: 869g (allow 2 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some knocks to and pieces missing from gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
