Large antique vintage Dutch river landscape oil painting with sailing boats signed E Neuwerk. Continental, Dutch, circa 1960s. Signed by the artist. Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (distressed) - very large and substantial heavy duty frame. Depicts a river landscape with sailing boats, Size of frame: 29.25 x 23.5 inches; Size of painting: 24 x 18.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 23.25 x 17.5 inches. Weight: 3.2 kg (allow up to 15 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Best described as shabby chic or faded grandeur. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier. No refunds will be available for this reason nor can the item be returned. This frame is extremely delicate and vulnerable to damage in transit, even with good packing.
