Large antique oil painting portrait of gentleman in hat and spectacles reading paper. Continental, German, circa 1760-90. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Size of frame: 29.25 x 23.5 inches; Size of portrait: 27 x 21 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 26.5 x 21 inches. Weight: 1.7 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some reinforcement on reverse but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
