Large antique oil painting entitled In the Synagogue by D Maclise RA. English, circa 1840-60. Signed by the artist and in title at bottom of frame. "Daniel Maclise RA was an Irish history painter, literary and portrait painter, and illustrator, who worked for most of his life in London, England". Wikipedia Oil on canvas. Ornate gilt carved frame. Depicts a rabbi and Jews in the synagogue. Size of frame: 40.5 x 33 inches; Size of canvas: 34 x 25.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 33 x 25 inches. Weight: 8 kg (allow 25 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, a repair to reverse and some knocks to gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. A nice piece of Judaica. Collection from Brockley, London SE4 preferred but please ask for a courier quote if you can't collect or if you are a serious overseas buyer.
