Large antique French oil painting portrait of bearded man entitled Le Prophet. French School, circa 1890-1900. Unsigned, artist unknown. Provenance on reverse: "Le Prophet" (but not sure which one). Depicts a naked, bearded man. Oil on canvas. Wooden (oak) frame. Size of frame: 29.5 x 25 inches; Size of canvas: 24 x 19.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 23.75 x 19.5 inches. Weight: 4.13 kg (allow up to 15 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some damage to canvas with a couple of repairs to reverse, craquelure, some minor scuffs, some wear at edges and some knocks to frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
