Large antique French oil painting portrait of an elderly gentleman with walking stick. French School, circa 1850-90. Unsigned, artist unknown. Depicts an elderly gentleman in coat with walking stick. Quite a Gothic feel to the portrait. Oil on canvas. Oval detail and unusual diagonal frame at back. Size: 27.75 x 20 inches. Weight: 1.3 kg (allow up to 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some areas of damage to canvas with a couple of repairs to reverse and some damage to bottom edge of canvas but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
