Large antique French Impressionist coastal landscape oil painting signed A Brio. French, circa 1920. Signed by the artist. Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a beach scene with what looks like a fort in the background. Impressionist in style. Size of frame: 23.5 x 20.5 inches; Size of painting: 13 x 10 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 12 x 9 inches. Weight: 6.2 kg (allow 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and significant damage to the frame ie lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso plaster but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
