Large antique Flemish still life oil painting study of game attributed to CA Clevenbergh. Flemish, circa 1812. Signed by the artist - attributed to CA Clevenbergh, a Flemish painter of still life. Oil on canvas. Depicts hare and woodcock hanging from tree. Size: 27.5 x 22 inches; Weight: 1.5 kg (allow 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some paint loss and damage but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly. This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality.
