Large antique early Victorian Romantic landscape oil painting study of ruined castle. English School, circa 1870-90. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 26 x 22 inches; Size of painting: 18 x 14 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 17.25 x 14 inches. Weight: 3.8 kg (allow up 8kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some minor restoration and a little damage to the frame ie a few knocks to and pieces missing but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
