Large antique early Victorian oil painting portrait study of a country outing of young aristocrats (1 of 2). English School, circa 1840-60. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate frame but is a more modern reproduction. Depicts a group of young aristocrats (two couples) on a country outing with dog. Size of frame: 33 x 30.5 inches; Size of canvas: 23.5 x 21 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 23 x 20 inches. Weight: 6.8 kg (allow 15 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and craquelure but all part of its charm and character. Please note the painting has been relined onto a new canvas backing at some point in its life. Priced accordingly.
