Large antique Dutch oil painting study of dog and pups. Dutch, circa 1950s. Oil on canvas. Black ebonised wooden frame. Signed with artist's monogram, JC. Depicts a dog and her pups engulfed by floodwaters - a melancholy scene of the dog chained to her kennel which is floating in the water, with her pups, hopefully evading peril. Size of frame: 34.5 x 30.5 inches; Size of canvas: 26 x 22 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 25 x 21 inches. Weight: 4.6 kg (allow 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some scuffs and knocks to frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
