Large antique pewter goblet planter urn.
English, circa 1990.
Made by Shaw & Fisher, Sheffield - maker's plaque inside.
"Loysel's Patent Hydrostatic Percolator" on plaque so originally a percolator:
"Loysel’s hydrostatic percolator is an early gravity-driven extraction tool, made of pewter, designed to slowly and efficiently extract medicinal substances from solids using liquid pressure alone—a precursor to modern laboratory percolators and extractors".
Size:
Top diameter: 5.5 inches;
Base diameter: 5 inches;
Height: 10 inches.
Weight: 1.1 kg (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed).
