Distressed antique Scottish oil painting study of woman out hunting with dogs and pony. British, Scottish, circa 1800-40. Georgian/early Victorian. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Depicts a woman in tamoshanter out hunting with dogs and pony, game basket and hare on top, and mountains in the background. Size: 28.75 x 25 inches; Weight: 1.4 kg (allow up to 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - very distressed with various superficial marks & scratches, lots of craquelure and flaking and some damage to canvas with a couple of repairs to reverse but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a significant woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
