Some handwriting on reverse as to the location but hard to make out. Oil on canvas. Distressed elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts trees in Autumn. Size of frame: 27.5 x 20.5 inches; Size of canvas: 21.5 x 15 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 21 x 14 inches. Weight: 2.5 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). NOTE: Tatty condition, commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure, lots of flaking paint and paint loss at the bottom, an area of damage to canvas with repair to reverse and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
