Antique watercolour painting portrait study of parrot, chicks and dogs signed T Banks 1896. English, dated 1896. Signed by the artist. Glazed watercolour on parchment. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a parrot with chicks and two dogs - terrier and spaniel. Size of frame: 15 x 11 inches; Size of painting: 10.25 x 6.25 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 9.75 x 5.5 inches. Weight: almost 1 kg (allow 4 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Apologies for glass reflection in photos. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
