Antique vintage French oil painting study of hunting dogs signed G Metsu. French, circa 1970s. Signed by the artist. Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (frame is older than painting). Depicts hunting dogs/hounds. Size of frame: 21.5 x 17.5 inches; Size of painting: 17.5 x 13.25 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15.5 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 2.6 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Reasonable vintage condition - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Please DO satisfy yourself as to the condition of the frame before buying - thanks. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
