Antique vintage French oil painting portrait of girl in red dress signed L Hay. French, circa 1930s. Signed by the artist. Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Depicts a girl in a red dress holding a mandolin. Size of frame:30 x 21.5 inches; Size of canvas: 25.75 x 17.75 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 25.5 x 17 inches. Weight: 2.4 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some crackling to paintwork, some damage to canvas with several repairs to reverse and lots of knocks to gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
