Antique Victorian painting study of two dogs chasing a rat signed G Armfield (2 of 2). English, circa 1880-90. Signed by the artist, George Armfield (British, 1808-1893). Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Size of frame: 20.75 x 17 inches; Size of canvas: 16 x 12 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15.5 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 1.9 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some minor damage to the frame ie some knocks to and pieces missing but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
