Antique Victorian oil painting study of children outside a blacksmiths forge. English School, circa 1840-60. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Gilt frame (more modern). Depicts a village scene with children congregating outside possibly a blacksmith's forge, with church in the background. Size of frame: 22.5 x 20.25 inches; Size of canvas: 18x 16 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 18 x 16 inches. Weight: 2.2 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, small area of damage to canvas with repair to reverse and some knocks to gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
