Antique Victorian oil painting portrait of woman, child and dog. English School, circa 1870-90. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (more modern). Depicts a woman in headscarf and apron standing in gateway with a small child and dog. Size of frame: 19.5 x 15.5 inches; Size of canvas: 16 x 12 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15.5 x 11.25 inches. Weight: 1.42 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and craquelure but otherwise fine and all part of its harm and character. Please note the canvas has been relined onto a new canvas backing at some point in its life. Priced accordingly.
