Antique Victorian oil painting portrait of senior lady called Mrs Piles by EH Howard 1882. English, dated Nov 1882 on reverse. Signed by the artist, EH Howard - provenance of sitter on reverse - "Mrs Piles". Oil on canvas. Carved wooden frame. Size of frame: 23 x 19 inches; Size of canvas: 17.75 x 14 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 16.5 x 12.5 inches. Weight: 2.8 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure, some minor flaking and lots of knocks to wooden frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
