Antique Victorian oil painting portrait of an elderly shepherd in smock. English School, circa 1880-1900. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 25.5 x 21.5 inches; Size of canvas: 18 x 14 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 17.5 x 13.5 inches. Weight: almost 3 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some restoration on front and an area of damage to canvas with a repair to reverse but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
