Antique Victorian landscape oil painting of loch and mountains entitled "In the Trossachs, Scotland". Scottish, circa 1890. Signed by the artist in pencil on label on reverse but hard to decipher. Provenance on label: "In the Trossachs, Scotland". Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (distressed). Depicts Highland Cattle in the loch. Size of frame: 26 x 20 inches. Size of canvas: 18 x 12 inches. Size of front painting aperture: 17.5 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 3.2 kg (allow 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic or faded grandeur. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
