Antique Victorian landscape in pastel of the Norfolk Broads by Henry Bright in gesso frame.English, circa 1850-1873.Henry Bright (1810-1873) was a distinguished English landscape painter associated with the Norwich School of painters (Wikipedia).Pastel on board. Please note pastel has been treated with professional fixative but is unglazed. Decorative gilt gesso frame with provenance (B.1810 Henry Bright D.1873).Depicts a sailing boats at sunset on the Norfolk Broads, with windmill on bank.Size of frame: 25.5 x 21 inches.Size of painting: 16 x 11.5 inches.Weight: 2.3 kg (allow 8.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches to paper, has some ripples and some minor chips to the gesso frame but all part of its charm and character.Priced accordingly.This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
