Antique Victorian framed embroidery sampler dated 1880s. English, circa 1880. Glazed with distressed gilt gesso frame. "By Emily Lewis aged 9 years". Dated "March 12th 188_". Size of frame: 14 x 9.5 inches; Size of front aperture: 11.75 x 7.25 inches. Weight: 656g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic.
