Antique Victorian coastal landscape oil painting attributed to EW Cook RA. English School, circa 1890-1910. Unsigned but artist's name is on the frame - EW Cook (Ebenezer Wake Cook, British, 1843-1926). Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a rowing boat with figures on the shore unloading shellfish and a tall sailing ship in the background. Size of frame: 16.5 x 12.5 inches; Size of panel: 12 x 8 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 9.5 x 5.5 inches. Weight: 1.6 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
