Antique stoolball bat. English, circa 1910-30. "Stoolball is a sport that dates back to at least the 15th century, originating in Sussex, southern England. It is considered a "traditional striking and fielding sport" and may be an ancestor of cricket (a game it resembles in some respects), baseball, softball, and rounders. The sport has been called "cricket in the air" (Wikipedia). Size: Length: 18 inches; width: 7.5 inches. Weight: 478g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age and use - well worn with various superficial marks & scratches and some chunks missing to the edges but all part of its charm and character. Suitable as a display item, rather than to be used. Priced accordingly.
