Antique still life oil painting study of bindweed flowers. English School, circa 1900. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on board. Distressed elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts bindweek trumpet-shaped white flowers (often called Wild Morning Glory). Size of frame: 17 x 13 inches; Size of painting: 13.25 x 9.25 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 11.75 x 7.75 inches. Weight: 1.12 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. Please DO satisfy yourself as to the condition before buying. This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality.
