Antique still life oil painting of daisies and poppies. English School, circa 1900. Unsigned, artist unknown (although there is a signature on reverse but hard to decipher). Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 27.5 x 19.25 inches. Size of canvas: 20 x 12 inches. Size of front painting aperture: 19.25 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 3.1 kg (allow 7.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks and scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from the gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the item cannot be returned for this reason.
