Antique Spanish oil painting portrait of Christ. Continental School, Spanish, circa 1800. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Size: 30 x 21.75 inches; Weight: just under 1 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, lots of craquelure, flaking to paintwork, paint loss and some damage to canvas with repairs to reverse but all part of its charm and character. As mentioned, there are areas where the antique paintwork has started to flake off from the canvas. Whilst every care will be taken with packing, I cannot guarantee that more flaking will occur in transit so please be aware of this before buying (and any such risk will be on the buyer). The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly. Please satisfy yourself as to the condition before buying. Best described as shabby chic.
