Antique snowscene landscape oil painting of Kenilworth castle at sunset. English, circa 1900. Signed with artist's monogram on reverse - HB. "Kenilworth" written just under initials. Oil on canvas. Elaborate (distressed) gilt gesso frame. Depicts Kenilworth castle at sunset on a snowy day. Size of frame: 12 x 10 inches. Size of canvas: 8 x 6 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 8 x 6 inches. Weight: 595g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). NOTE: Tatty condition - various superficial marks & scratches and significant damage to the gesso frame ie lots of knocks to and pieces missing from but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. Please do satisfy yourself as to the condition before buying.
