Antique signed Victorian oil painting study of inquisitive terrier dogs and rats in a trap. English School, circa 1890-1900. Signed by the artist but tricky to decipher signature. Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 21 x 17 inches; Size of painting: 16 x 12 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15.5 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 1.7 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
