Antique signed Welsh landscape oil painting of a Welsh mountain (2 of 2). Welsh, circa 1880-90. Signed by the artist but signature is tricky to decipher - artist's monogram on reverse "NW". Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso frame. Depicts a Welsh mountain scene - provenance on reverse: "On a Welsh Mountain, Elan T........ NW". Size of frame: 21.5 x 17.75 inches; Size of canvas: 22 x 16 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 13.5 x 9.5 inches. Weight: 1.8 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, a small area of damage to canvas with some paint flaking off, one repair to reverse and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
