Antique signed landscape oil painting of a steeplechase dated 1901. English, dated 1901. Signed by the artist but difficult to decipher signature. Oil on board. Gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 22 x 14.25 inches; Size of painting: 15 x 7.25 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 14.25 x 6.5 inches. Weight: 2.5 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, quite distressed - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
