Antique signed Continental oil painting portrait study of a farm girl. Continental, possibly Italian. Circa 1860-80. Signed by the artist but tricky to decipher signature. Oil on tin. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a farm girl or milkmaid with white hat and red apron. Size of frame: 17.5 x 16 inches; Size of tin panel: 8.5 x 7 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 7.75 x 6.5 inches. Weight: 2.6 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some minor knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
