Antique Scottish oil painting study of a family household scene. Scottish School, circa 1800-50. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a domestic household scene - a family sitting around the table with children and dog. Size of frame: 24 x 20 inches; Size of canvas: 19 x 15 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 18 x 14 inches. Weight: 3.9 kg (allow 9 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Please note the painting has been relined onto a new canvas backing at some point in its life. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
