Antique Scottish oil painting portrait study of cows dated 1903. British, Scottish School, dated 1903. Signed with artist's monogram initial R. Oil on canvas, laid on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts Belted Galloway cattle from SW Scotland - a bucolic scene. Size of frame: 19.5 x 12 inches. Size of panel: 16 x 8.75 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15.25 x 8 inches. Weight: 1.8 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Reasonable condition for its age - craquelure and some minor knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
