Antique Scottish landscape oil painting of loch and mountains signed A Carse. British, Scottish, circa 1890. Signed by the artist. Oil on parchment laid on board. Distressed gilt gesso frame. Depicts loch and mountains with a croft and figures in the foreground. Size of frame: 17.75 x 15.5 inches; Size of painting: 10.75 x 9 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 10 x 8 inches. Weight: 1.8 kg (allow up to 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic or faded grandeur. This is a genuine antique original and authentic work of art which I have had remounted in a period frame. All the paintings I offer are unique and period. Just for the sake of clarity, please note that this painting is not glazed. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
