Antique river landscape oil painting with fisherman. English School, circa 1890-1900. Unsigned, artist unknown, but there is some provenance on reverse: "Mrs Gedou Jenkins, .... Sidmouth" (Devon). Oil on canvas. Distressed gilt gesso frame. Depicts a river landscape with a fisherman in the foreground. Size of frame: 13.25 x 11 inches; Size of canvas: 9.25 x 7 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 8.5 x 6.25 inches. Weight: 700g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
