Antique river landscape oil painting with boy on bridge attributed to T Creswick RA. English, circa 1840-60. Unsigned but has has artist's name on gold card mount - T Creswick RA (Thomas Creswick, British, 1811-1869). Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame with oval aperture. Size of frame: 16 x 14 inches; Size of painting: 11.5 x 9 inches; Size of front painting oval aperture: 9 x 7 inch diameter. Weight: 1.6 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some restoration to frame and some tears to gold mount surround but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
