Antique river landscape oil painting of family crossing river with donkey. English, circa 1880-1900. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a travelling man and his wife with their donkey crossing river. Size of frame: 20.5 x 18 inches; Size of canvas: 15 x 12 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 11.75 x 9 inches. Weight: 3.1 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and craquelure but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
