Antique river landscape oil painting of a water mill watermill signed FW. English, circa 1900. Signed with artist's monogram. Oil on canvas. Depicts a watermill with two male figures in the foreground and mountains in background. Size: 16 x 12 inches. Weight: 400g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some paint loss and craquelure with one repair on reverse and a small chunk missing from top edge but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality.
