Provenance on gold mount: "James Marshall, Lieut 68th Light Infantry, Balaclava, 1855". Size of frame: 15 x 12 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 8.25 x 5 inches; Size of painting: 9 x 5.75 inches. Weight: 975g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Reasonable condition for its age - a small tear on lefthand side and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
