Antique Old Master oil painting portrait of bearded man. Continental School, circa 1780-1820. Unsigned, artist unknown. Depicts an elderly bearded man. Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 21.5 x 18.5 inches; Size of canvas: 17 x 14 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 15.75 x 13 inches. Weight: 2.3 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, lots of craquelure, some damage to canvas with several repairs to reverse, some minor restoration and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
